ZIMBABWE 4 FIELDS DISCIPLESHIP AND CHURCH MULTIPLICATION OUTREACH PROGRAM
Reported by Brother Auswich.
Work report: Gathering, Growing and Nurturing Disciples
First half of March
Introduction
Our mission extents beyond baptisms, we are committed to gather, growing and nurturing disciples. This report highlights our efforts, achievements, challenges and recommendations in fulfilling this mission.
Gathering disciples
We organised outreach programs, evangelism campaign and community engagements. We camped at Machiragwama Secondary school in Buhera. We met our WBS students each day for 30min taking them through the courses they had done. We also met with the community sharing the word with them as we moved from house to house. We encouraged fellowship through small groups which we gathered to study the word. We are thankful to the WBS seminar conducted at the school.
Challenges
Limited resources for outreach programs and evangelism programs.
Meeting with community leaders of highly politically dominated areas like these is very involving.
Achievements
Increased attendance in church programs and services.
Strengthened connections within the community through house-to-house teachings
Recommendations
Strengthen mentorship programs for new believers
Utilise digital platforms for outreach programs and engagement
Growing disciples
Conducting Bible study sessions and discipleship training programs.
Used the sword method to studying the bible and open communication so that participants get to involve themselves in the study and discover the truth on their own.
Disciples were grouped in small groups to allow maximum participation and discovery techniques.
Nurturing disciples
providing mentorship and counselling
organising prayer meetings and spiritual growth workshops
encouraging service and mission work
outcome
on the WBS seminar, the school conducted a speech and price giving day, so the majority of the community was present. Almost over 500 people were in attendance.
We lead the devotions, taught and prayed
167 people were saved on the day including youth and the elderly on Friday 7 March
This gave birth of Machiragwama Church of Christ. Sunday 9 March 68 out of the total baptised attended Sunday service at Machiragwama
We also followed the work at Mt Dema and eight people were added to the flock on Sunday March 9. The church at Mt Dema continues to be fruitful and is taking shape. We are so much thrilled with the team work.
Conclusion
Our mission is not just to baptise but to create a lasting impact by gathering, growing and nurturing disciples. While progress has been made, continuous efforts are needed to overcome challenges and enhance our discipleship programs. Implementing some of the recommendations above will help us fulfil our vision more effectively. We will expand training for discipleship leaders and mentors while engaging in the digital spaces for growth and nurturing.
