ZAMBIAN 4 FIELDS DISCIPLESHIP MULTIPLICATION TRAINING AT NAMPONGO

On March 12, 2022, Teddy and I had the opportunity to travel to Nampongo, a village in the Musokotwane area. We conducted 4 Field Discipleship Multiplication training at Nampongo Church of Christ.
Teddy and I took turns to deliver the lessons. Teddy did the introduction, the overview, brutal facts, and the Person/House of Peace. I did the Big Vision, being Global from Genesis to Revelation, 5 Parts 4 Fields Overview, and the Relational Map.
The turnout was good, with 110 people in total: 65 women, 10 children, and 35 men. It was exciting to have such a number – each of these people pledged to make each other a disciple, and to encourage each disciple to make another disciple. We thanked God for preparing these people's hearts to learn God's word through 4 Fields Discipleship training.
Nampongo is conveniently located for many congregations in the surrounding area. Nampongo hosts a national conference for everyone each year, and people from all over Zambia attend. Typically, the national conference lasts for 4 days during the Easter holidays. The number of participants ranges between 2000 and 3000.
As you will see from the photos, the church building is surrounded by temporary pole or wood structures used during the national conference. There are four shelters used for sleeping – one for each gender; one for women, one for men, one for worship, and one for cooking. When attendance is at its peak, an additional tent is erected to accommodate those without accommodation.
It was incredible to see how people became so engrossed in our lessons. Here's what the participants had to say during our debriefing session:
• "Being a Christian isn't about sitting in pews and relaxing; it's about multiplying disciples and churches."
• "Anyone who has received the gospel has a responsibility to spread the gospel."
• "The gospel should be shared with your family first, then your town/area, and finally the entire country."
As we winded up our training, the participants did not want us to leave the church premises. They wanted us to continue the following day. Unfortunately, we could not continue because the church premises were to host another meeting with the National Conference Organizing Committee. Our sincere desire is to ensure that no one is left behind.
Without a doubt, Nampongo has the potential to become a center for 4 Fields Discipleship Multiplication training and to reach out to lost souls in the local area and beyond with the gospel of Jesus Christ. In the coming months, our goal is to train all church leaders and evangelism teams to go out and make disciples who make disciples and to plant churches that plant churches. We also hope to hold refresher training from time to time. We also hope refresher training will encourage disciple-makers to always be on fire.
Last but not least, Teddy and I would like to thank Gospel Chariot – Share Missions for assisting us in sharing the gospel with these wonderful souls. Nampongo is a wonderful place, and we had a great time training these wonderful people in the Four Fields Discipleship Multiplication. The response has been overwhelmingly positive.
