SENEGAL 4 FIELDS DISCIPLESHIP AND CHURCH MULTIPLICATION TRAINING AND HARVEST

REPORT ON EVANGELISM AT DIALAKEGNY - SENEGAL.
8TH TO 14TH MAY 2023.
We were 9 members that gathered in one of the villages inhabited by the Fulanis. The are people who claimed that Islam is their sole religion. This is evidence in the fact that we cannot even find Roman Catholic church which is in almost every community of Senegal.
We joined our brother Djibril Ba who was baptized almost a year ago. Our major challenge was language barrier. We relied solely on Djibril for every communication. He is not fully grounded in the faith since he’s just a new convert, no further Bible studies after baptism. Another hindrance was the fact that we’re not allowed to do house to house to present the effective tool: Jesus’ Story in 3 circles. Our host told us to stay with him and those who are interested would come to us and we had no other option than to obey.
Our first night film projection was interrupted by a heavy wind. But we succeeded on Wednesday after some technical hitches. We continued on Thursday. We were appealed to by our host not to do any projection on Friday night because there was a death of an elder in that community. Unfortunately, on Saturday, our program was boycotted because our host’s father intentionally organized a program inviting their family Marabout hence inviting all the village folks to attend, though the son didn’t attend.
Despite all the above challenges, God proved Himself that He is the God of all nations, therefore all races. A lot visited us at our dwelling place. And as usual Jesus’ Story in 3 circle played its effective role again. We shared the gospel to about 250 people and I started to train one person. By His grace, we baptized 4. 3 of them are Fulanis. Therefore, they’re now 4 baptized Fulanis in Dialakegny in the region of Kolda. In fact, 4 others promised to be baptized but they didn’t have the courage to put it into realization. There is hope that more will be added to Lord’s kingdom in the near future. Many were Impressed about the truth concerning Jesus Christ. Even the elders are afraid that the youth may soon abandon their religion. We need to hit the iron while it is hot. We need to visit them as often as possible to encourage and by His grace add more souls to the kingdom.
THE BAPTIZED : Djibril Ba, Tidjan Diamanka, Omar Sané, Sambayel Baldé and Paul Lazard Santa. Let’s remember them in our prayers continuously.
NEEDS
From interaction with Djibril, he’ll like to undergo training in order to be able to know the Bible so that he can help his people out of this darkness.
He needs support for his family of 6. He’s the sole bread winner so he cannot come to Senegal or go to anywhere without any support for his family. I’m proposing at least one year intensive training in Dakar school of preaching to enable him have adequate insight into the Bible and the apostles’ doctrine. He has no knowledge of Christian adoration so he can’t lead without any proper preparation. And they way they’re knit together, I’m of the view that only one of their own can be effective among them.
