Greetings in the Lord.

You have noticed that since January, our newsletter have become rare. I apologize because this irregularity is due to the precarious political situation in our country, we are living in a war zone. The network was non-existent for a while and when it came back, its performance is really dismal until today. Dispite this, I managed as best I could to inform some of you through sms and Whatsapp, about the situation prevailing in Goma in general and in the church in particular.

Everyone is aware that Goma is under occupation by the M23 rebel group since January 27, 2025. The situation was and still critical but the church is doing well and is thanking you enormously for the asistance you provided for the brethren during this difficult time. The gesture made by you is a relief because while many had nothing to eat and others were busy looting, our members had something from you to eat: the church give thanks to the Lord.

It is true that the situation is not yet stable, people are being killed every day. While the war progress towards the south of Goma leading to the capture of the town of Bukavu in South-Kivu province where brother M'massa is living, here in Goma, commercial houses, schools...are functioning, but state offices are not yet all open properly.

Several government soldiers had taken off their military uniforms and mixed among the population with weapons. You remember also that all the prisons in Goma were emptied when the M23 entered the city of Goma and the most fearsome bandits were released, leaving the city flooded with dangerous elements. We are witnessing night-time abuses by bandits and governments soldiers (shootings, theft of money and goods, rape, killings...), there are tears in several families! What is serious is that when M23 is called to intervene, it is difficult for them to distinguish the bandits from the civilians; this is how we are witnessing killings of bandits and even innocent civilians.

The leaders of M23 who occupy the city issued a statement according to which they have no prison for thieves or murderers, whoever is accused of theft or other serious crimes will be executed either by the army or by the people. Thus, we witness several cases of open killings during the day of robbers by the population of Goma. Any bandit caught in the robbery is either stoned to death or burned alive. Goma is littered with burned or shot corpses, but some bandits do not give up, they continue to hurt in terms of taking revenge on their already deceased friends...

However, despite the presence of terror, the smell of death and the corpses that litter our streets, the work of the Lord still going on:

- One four fields seminar has been organised in Mugunga;

- Sunday worships services at our different groups and one combine Sunday worship;

- Several discovery Bible studies at our different groups (Kyeshero-Tueday, Katoi-Wednesday, Mugunga-Thursday, and Saturday, Nzulo-Friday);

- Foods, cloths and money's distribution to our brethren;

- Baptisms of four people;

- ect.

Our thanks goes to God who allowed us to accomplish many works in His Kingdom in this difficult situation.
